How long must it take?

It appears to me that people are growing more and more disgruntled with the way Washington D.C. is overlooking their needs. This world, this society that we have created is moving in directions that frighten a lot of people. We have forgotten the basics, because we are constantly being told that the basics are now obsolete.

But what would happen if suddenly there was a serious fuel shortage and distribution trucks, trains and planes could not deliver the food to grocery store on any type of regular basis. Already there are empty sections in the produce department because crops are being destroyed by bad weather, farmers are opting to grow cash crops in order to save their farms from foreclosures and the cost of supplying certain items to customers has just gotten to expensive. What then? How will we feed ourselves and our families?

People are getting worked up about the future and well they should be. It is very uncertain. But the one thing that we can be certain of is that together we can survive and thrive if all of our efforts and energy is focused in the right direction. That direction is sustainability and renewable practices. No more wasting electricity , fuel and food because we are too lazy to do what is sensible and right. We must look past the present in order to save the future. It's as simple as installing lighting timers or motion censors, composting food scrapes and planting our own gardens, recycling and insisting that industry and government stop raping and damaging the Earth. This is the only home we have ever known and She is getting tired of the way we are treating Her.

There is a storm brewing in the wind and it brings with it a new way of living for the future. It can be ignored no longer. Will you know what to do when the power goes out for good? Do you know what side you will be on, because they will try to divide us. I know what to do and I can show you if you'll let me.

Peace & Blessings be unto you all,

Stephanie
